Texans for State Parks held their annual
Membership Meeting on February 11-12, 2011. The meeting was held in the Dining Hall of McKinney Falls State Park in Austin.
Items covered included briefings by Scott Boruff, Parks and Wildlife's Deputy Executive Director, Brent Leisure,
Texas State Parks Director, Chris Holmes, Parks and Wildlife's Outdoor Family Program, and Tim Hogsett, TPWD's Local
Parks Grants Director.
Also, presentations were made by TfSP Directors Evelyn Mertz, John Gosdin, Ken Pollard and
Jamie McNally on Legislative Contacts and information.
We also had our Annual "Bragging Night" where
we showed off our "Featured Parks" and members were able to show off their Park.
The weather was perfect
for everyone to be able to enjoy our meals outside in the Park.
We are grateful for the warm welcome we received
by the Staff of McKinney Falls State Park. They made us feel at home in their piece of Texas Parks.
We covered
a lot of ground in this year's event and will keep everyone updated on all the changes over the next several months.
